Vogue bans skinny models! Rachel Says…

The Style Factory team were made up to hear the latest news from Vogue magazine, apparently being “skinny” is no longer in fashion.

The fashion bible has set a ban on all under 16 models who appear to be underweight and too slim.

The editors of all 19 editions of Vogue have decided to “work with models who, in our view, are healthy and help us promote a healthy body image.”

For a such an influential magazine like Vogue to take the reigns on an issue that has forever plagued the fashion industry, hopefully many more will now follow!

Theres nothing worse than flicking through a magazine and seeing size zero models, not only does it make you feel depressed about your own body, but it also makes you wonder to what extent has the model had to go to, to get that skinny figure.

Now I don’t have a problem with magazines and designers using slim models, but in reality the averageUKwoman is a size 16, not a size zero, so how can most people relate to these girls? If anything it will make people feel bad about their own body, and may have a huge influential factor on young girls, leading to eating disorders and major body hang ups!

Vogue we salute you, lets hope this paves the way for a big change in the industry!!
