Sofia Coppela’s Marie Antoinette is one of my favourite films, not so much for the acting but the styling, the costumes, the make up, everything is just gorgeous! So how happy was I today to see Karl Lagerfeld’s new Chanel 2013 Cruise collection.
The collection was inspired by Lagerfields favourites M.I.A and Azealia Banks (no joke!) and has a real punk inspired edge. Taking the classic Chanel tweed and pastel colours, the collection looks like it could fit right into a Marie Antoinette dream world!
This is the first Chanel collection in a while that I have really, really loved, its like a mix up of all my favourite things and put it in one collection.
Many of the skirts have big volume, almost like 18th century bustles, with boning and massive structures, theres lots of petticoats, ruffles, shoulder pads, oversized collars, liliac wigs and new romantic cuffs amongst a whirlwind of other stuff.
I could happily post every single picture of the collection I am that in love with it, but I wont, heres just a few of my faves:
